The days of Jim Harbaugh spanning the globe for a satellite camp tour are gone.

Still, the idea of the off-campus camp is not dead. And Michigan football is still going to take full advantage this summer.

“It’s not like past years when we can send the whole staff to every camp,” Harbaugh said. “But we can get 2-3 coaches to (various) camps.”

The new rules stipulate that programs can attend camps during a period of 10 days. All camps must take place at a facility belonging to an NCAA-member institution. Michigan’s process will begin Friday when members of the staff will be at Mercer University in Macon, Ga.

Georgia has been a key point for Harbaugh’s recruiting efforts throughout his U-M tenure, something that is now notably led by safeties coach/special teams coordinator Chris Partridge. Michigan had success in Georgia back in 2017 when it landed 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. The Wolverines secured pledges from three players in Georgia last year: Myles Sims, Christian Turner and Michael Barrett.

From there, Michigan’s staff will visit Lane Kiffin and Florida Atlantic for a satellite camp Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla. Parts of U-M’s staff will also be at Tennessee-Martin on Saturday.

A big one for the Wolverines will be in-state Sunday when Harbaugh’s entire staff is expected to attend the “Best of the Midwest” camp at Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids.

According to Harbaugh, U-M will split the staff between camps at Case Western in Ohio and Wagner College in New York on June 6 (it’ll also be at Wagner on June 8) before eventually returning to Ann Arbor for its own specialist camp June 9.

The staff is advertised for a camp at Bowie State in Maryland on June 10 and it will host its own prospect/big man camp in Ann Arbor on June 18.
